Step 3: Schedule an Appointment

• After applying online, call 519-524-8344 or email townhall@goderich.ca to schedule an appointment to get your license at Town Hall.
• Bring in the original documents and your ID for review. 

Fees:

The cost of a Marriage Licence is $130.00 (HST exempt)

  • Cheque (payable to the Town of Goderich)

Please note: Credit cards are not accepted.

Marriage Commissioners:

The cost of a Marriage Commissioner is $350.00 plus HST. Authorized Marriage Commissioners for the Town of Goderich are listed below:

Wedding Venues:

The Town offers a variety of beautiful locations for your wedding ceremony, including the Town Hall Council Chamber, local beaches, and several public parks.

• Pavilion Rentals:

  • For use of the Town pavilion at Harbor Park, St. Christopher’s Beach, or The Cove, complete the pavilion reservation form, which requires a $80.00 + HST fee.

• Town Hall Council Chamber:

  • For use of the Town Hall Council Chamber, complete the Wedding Venue Request Form, which requires a $100.00 fee and proof of insurance.

 Applying for a Marriage Certificate

You may apply for a marriage certificate from Service Ontario six to eight weeks after your marriage ceremony. There are a few ways to apply:

• Online through Service Ontario - Get a Marriage Certificate 
• In person via Service Ontario.
