Ministry of Infrastructure Delegation Meeting

Mayor Bazinet, Deputy Mayor Noel, Councillor Carroll and CAO Hallahan met with Amarjot Sandhu, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure, on Tuesday, August 18 at the AMO Conference to discuss Goderich’s infrastructure deficit and the need for sustainable funding.

With aging infrastructure, municipalities like Goderich face a funding gap that property taxes cannot support for major capital projects. The Town continues to advocate and press the provincial government to make the doubling of the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund permanent and to provide reliable, long-term funding that supports both essential infrastructure renewal and housing-enabling projects.
