Non-Emergency Wildlife Issues:

  • Do Not Call Police: Dial 9-1-1 for situations where there is an imminent threat to health and safety.
  • Role of Municipal Law Enforcement Officers: They can address animal health concerns, but cannot handle furbearing animals like coyotes, foxes, bobcats, and bears due to legal restrictions.

Tips to Deter Wildlife:

  • Secure Trash and Compost: Use secure containers for garbage and compost.
  • Avoid Feeding Animals: Do not intentionally feed birds or other animals.
  • Prevent Animal Shelters: Block access to potential animal shelters, such as openings under decks.

Animal Control Issues:

If you have a concern about an Animal Control issue that isn't an immediate threat to health or safety, please fill out a By-Law Complaint Form. Your complaint will be sent to a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer for review.
