Allowing Private Retail Cannabis Stores in the Town of Goderich
As of October 17, 2018, cannabis became legal for recreational use under the Federal Cannabis Act. In Ontario, cannabis can now be purchased online through the Ontario Cannabis Store. The Government of Ontario has also committed to allowing private recreational cannabis retail stores throughout Ontario beginning on April 1, 2019. Cannabis stores will be licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Council received a staff report on cannabis storefronts on December 10, 2018.
Council received a subsequent report at their January 7, 2019 Council meeting.
