Property Tax Overview:
The Town sets tax rates to fund local services and also collects taxes for the County of Huron and local school boards. Your property taxes help pay for services like fire protection, policing, road maintenance, arenas, parks, libraries, and more. Tax rates are adjusted yearly based on the annual budget needs.
Where Do My Property Taxes Go?
Property taxes are collected and distributed between the Town of Goderich, the County of Huron, and the local school boards.

Tax Sale Properties |
|
As permitted by the Municipal Act, 2001, the Town may sell a property to recover taxes once the taxes are two years in arrears. The Town will advertise all tax sale properties on this page and in the local newspaper. The successful purchaser must pay the amount specified in the tender plus any accrued taxes and land transfer tax. Current properties for sale are also available at Ontario Tax Sales. |
