Welcome to the Goderich Fire Department
The Goderich Fire Department is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of Goderich and surrounding areas. Our team of 28 paid-on-call firefighters, led by the Fire Chief, is equipped with modern technology and training to handle various emergencies, including fires, vehicle accidents, HAZMAT situations, water rescues, and public hazards. We cover approximately 218 square kilometers, serving 12,000 permanent residents and thousands of seasonal visitors. We proudly serve Goderich, parts of Central Huron, and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
Our Mission
Our mission is to safeguard the community through proactive fire prevention, education, and emergency response. We strive to reduce the impact of fires, accidents, and other emergencies by ensuring a constant state of readiness and fostering a culture of safety. The primary objective of the Goderich Fire Department is to implement a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property of the residents and visitors of Goderich, as well as the municipalities it serves, from the effects of fires and other hazardous conditions.
