Conveniently situated on Ontario's West Coast, Goderich offers access to convenient national and international transportation networks. With major economic centres located within 120 km south (London) and east (Kitchener-Waterloo) of Goderich, businesses are able to draw customers and staff from major commercial markets.

Roads

Provincial Highways 8 and 21 lead directly into Goderich, allowing easy access from two major urban centres. Highway 401, which extends across Southwestern, Central and Eastern Ontario, is 116 km east of Goderich and easily accessible via provincial Highway 8.

Border Crossings

Goderich offers close proximity to two US/Canada border crossings at Sarnia/Port Huron (125 km) and Windsor/Detroit (225 km).

Sea

The Port of Goderich is the only deepwater port on the eastern shore of Lake Huron. An important hub of commercial shipping in southwestern Ontario, the port services regional mining, manufacturing and agricultural industries. Approximately 250 ships dock within the Port of Goderich annually, loading and delivering commodities such as salt, grain and calcium chloride. The port is also open to fishing boats and other users.

The Port of Goderich is owned by the Town of Goderich and administration is overseen by the Goderich Port Management Corporation.

Rail

The Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) has just under 300 kilometres of track in Ontario. Approximately 25,000 cars a year are moved on the track carrying commodities such as salt, fertilizer, wheat, grains, soy meal, rice and automotive products. The track has interchange points with CN in London and Toronto and Canadian Pacific in Kitchener and Guelph. Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Elmira, Stratford, St. Mary's and Clinton are accessible via GEXR. The railway is owned and operated by Genesee & Wyoming Inc.

Air

Goderich Municipal "Sky Harbour" Airport is located 2.5 km north of town. Serving the needs of Huron County with two paved runways (5000' x 100' and 3000' x 50') maintained year round and one turn runway (1870' x 80'), the airport also offers customs services, fuel and T-Hangars for rent.

London International Airport is located only 100 km from Goderich and Toronto Pearson International Airport is located 200 km from Goderich.
