Development charges are fees collected by the Town to help cover the cost of new infrastructure needed due to growth. This ensures new developments contribute to the town's facilities and services.
Every five years, the Town must review and adjust these charges through a Development Charges Background Study. This study sets the rates included in the Development Charges By-Law.
