Mayor Trevor Bazinet

About the Mayor 

Mayor Trevor Bazinet is a lifelong Goderich resident who was born and raised in the community and has built his personal and professional life here. Appointed Mayor on August 23, 2023, Mayor Bazinet became the Town’s youngest mayor since the early 1900s. 

Now serving his third term on Council, Mayor Bazinet has previously served as Councillor and Deputy Mayor. He values respectful, solutions-focused teamwork and believes strong municipal leadership begins with listening, bringing people together, supporting constructive dialogue, and focusing on what is best for Goderich today and into the future. 

A long-time volunteer and community builder, Mayor Bazinet coached minor hockey for 24 years, emphasizing not only skill development but also life lessons such as teamwork, goal setting, and perseverance. He also owns and operates a local 3-on-3 hockey league in Goderich, bringing together players of different ages and skill levels from across Huron, Bruce, and Perth counties and creating more opportunities for recreation and community connection. 

Mayor Bazinet lives in Goderich with his wife, Jill, their dog, Nova and son, Brock.
