Reviews and makes decisions on applications for land severances (consents) and minor variances, under the Planning Act. This committee operates independently of Council and staff. Decisions may be appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Economic Development Committee
Along with providing insight into matters relating to Economic Development and the well-being of the Town of Goderich. The Economic Development Committee is to encourage and explore innovative, entrepreneurial, and forward-thinking approaches to economic development and creative partnerships that support business growth, job creation, and investment attraction, provided such initiatives remain within the Committee’s advisory capacity and the policies and procedures of the Town.

Provides advice and recommendations to Council on environmental matters and sustainability initiatives within the Town.

Provides opportunities for communication and discussion between the Town of Goderich and municipalities that enter into agreements with the Town for fire services.
The Mid-Huron Landfill Site Board, representing the Town of Goderich, Municipality of Huron East, Municipality of Bluewater, Municipality of Huron-Kinloss, Municipality of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, and the Municipality of Central Huron, is responsible for overseeing the closed landfill's operational efficiency and environmental compliance until 2048. Their key tasks involve conducting leachate sampling and monitoring processes to ensure environmental stewardship. Additionally, the Board is responsible for compiling and submitting all necessary closed-landfill reports to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met and documented throughout the post-closure period.
Mid-Huron Recycling Centre Board
The Mid-Huron Recycling Centre Board, which includes the Town of Goderich, Municipality of Huron East, and the Municipality of Central Huron, is a governing body that is responsible for the operational efficiency and regulatory compliance of the transfer facility. Additionally, the Mid-Huron Recycling Centre Board are tasked with maintaining the facility's grounds and equipment, managing personnel, and setting tipping fees for materials collected to ensure the financial sustainability of the site.
Municipal and Marine Heritage Committee
Advises Council on matters related to municipal and marine heritage, including the preservation and promotion of Goderich’s historical and cultural resources.

Handles appeals from property owners who have received a Property Standards Order. The Committee can choose to uphold, dismiss, or modify an order or extend a deadline.
To appeal an order, submit a written request to the Committee Secretary.
Rebuilding Downtown Infrastructure Task Force
The Task Force’s mandate is to:
a) Develop a vision for Goderich’s Downtown Revitalization/Reconstruction Project.
b) Engage a design/engineering firm to work with the Task Force to produce a comprehensive “Rebuilding Downtown Infrastructure” plan that includes future state design concepts and options, associated costs with high level phases/milestones.
c) Facilitate public discussion and input throughout the process, as appropriate.
