Parkland Dedication

Parks and public spaces are vital to our community, and as the Town grows, so does the need for parkland. When new developments or redevelopments occur, the Town can require:

• Land Dedication: Setting aside land for parks or public recreational use.
• Cash-in-Lieu (CIL): A payment instead of land dedication, used exclusively for recreational purposes.

The calculation of parkland or CIL is based on By-Law 96 of 2010 Cash-In-Lieu of Parkland Payment Reserve Fund. Funds collected can only be used for parks or other recreational purposes.

Reserve Fund:

As per Section 7 of O. Reg. 509/20 under the Planning Act, the Town is required to prepare and share specific financial statements annually. The financial statements are listed below.
