Waterways

Goderich has the only seaway depth port on the east side of Lake Huron and is open approximately 9 months of the year depending on winter ice conditions.

• Local wharfage is 1,400 metres (4,600 feet).
• Lake and ocean vessels up to 222 metres (730 feet) in length can be accommodated.
• Major $17 million dollar harbour dredging/docking facility project has been completed. The harbour depth is 8 metres (26 feet) - Seaway depth.
• Goderich-Exeter Railway Co. Ltd. provides freight service to the harbour area.
