The Town of Goderich boasts some of the finest recreational facilities, groups and organizations in the area.
Since 2004, the Maitland Recreation Centre has been an active and vibrant part of Huron County. A member based facility, the YMCA of Goderich-Huron is involved in many partnerships with families, agencies and businesses within the community. The Maitland Recreation Centre is located in the Town of Goderich. Over 70,000 square feet, the building boasts a five-lane 25 metre lap pool; a children's leisure pool; an on-deck whirlpool and sauna; locker rooms, including a special family locker room; gymnasium; indoor walking and jogging track; an NHL size ice rink, an innovative wellness area consisting of cardio and strength training equipment; aerobic studio and multi-purpose meeting rooms. Wheelchair accessible, the YMCA also provides a fresh food service cafe, child minding, personal fitness services and ample on-site parking.
