Re-leaf in Harbour Park

The intial re-planting of Harbor Park will occur this fall in late November. The proposed Planting Plan is on diplay at Town Hall and available online (see link below). The Town of Goderich visited residents and businesses door to door to deliver information flyers in the days following the tornado. Copies are provided below


On August 30, 2011, Jim Spence, Chief Building Official with the Town of Goderich prepared a letter to help explain to home owners, with damage from the August 21, 2011 tornado, what documentation is required by the Town building department. Included are other general recommendations.

On August 31, 2011, Chris Basden, Municipal Law Enforcement Officer with the Town of Goderich prepared a notice to Owner/Occupants regarding the removal and disposal of debris and trees.

NOTICE | August 31, 2011

Owner / Occupant:

The Town of Goderich has been working diligently to remove debris and trees from Town owned property in an effort to continuously support the needs of the residents of Goderich.

It is the homeowners / occupants responsibility to dispose of their own storm damage waste including but not limited to trees, limbs, building debris, siding, windows, roofing material, broken furniture, damaged vehicles, etc.

Please do not remove the trunk or stump of any tree located on Town property. (Utility infrastructure needs to be located before this work can be done.)

It is strongly recommended that if you are removing a tree stump or trunk from private property that you call for a free locate service to avoid damaging any underground network of natural gas pipes, telephone lines, hydro lines, cablevision cables and water pipes. This locate service can be contracted at ONTARIO ONE CALL 1.800.400.2255.
